Privacy Policy

Hollywood Link ("the site") is operated by Bram Luyten, based in Belgium, and processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This page explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
What we collect
- Email address — only if you choose to save progress, publish to the leaderboards, or play duels. We use email as your sign-in identifier via a one-time code (OTP). There is no password.
- Player name and avatar choice — as you enter them during home setup.
- Game progress — which questions you've answered correctly or incorrectly, which difficulty mode you're playing, and your score history.
-
Cookies: a splash-seen cookie (
HLL_SPLASH_SEEN, 400 days) to skip the intro on return visits; a remember-me cookie (HLL_REMEMBER) for persistent sign-in; a theme preference cookie; a CSRF cookie; and a session cookie. No third-party analytics or advertising cookies are set.
Why we process it (lawful basis)
We process email addresses on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given when you enter your email on the save-progress screen. Game-state data (player name, scores) is processed on the basis of contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) — it is required to make the game function.
How long we keep it
Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by sending an email to the contact address below, after which your player record, scores, and email address are permanently deleted within 30 days. Backup retention may delay permanent deletion by a further 30 days.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. The site runs on Heroku (Salesforce), which acts as a data processor for hosting only. Email delivery for OTP codes uses a transactional email provider; only your email address and the one-time code are transmitted.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact bram@atmire.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data-handling practices change and note the revision date above.
